Harvest Hoedown Show'n'Sell

Jack and the boys from Pack 455 hit the floor selling popcorn at their school's PTO Harvest Hoedown event.

The party was blasting music, so they had to turn up their noise to 11!

Chess anyone?

One of the great things that the Popcorn Fundraiser helps pay for is our Pack's Fall and Spring camping trips.  We had over 60 people sign up for the Fall trip this year, and wouldn't you know it rained cats and dogs!  Did that stop Jack?  Nope, he just found himself a new hobby - chess.  The other parents and I were amazed to see a group of 6-10 year old boys crowded around the chess board, giving advice, or calling for "next game".  At least half of the boys involved had never even played before - they taught each other.  These kids will never cease to amaze me!

Jack didn't even stop to eat - he just chowed down while he played.  His new goal?  To beat his father...and I worry that it won't take long :(

Jack Sells Popcorn Progress Report

Jack hasn't been idle this week - he's been making flyers and videos, working at Show-N-Sells, and going door to door to raise money for his Pack and Scouting.  As you can see in the sidebar, he's off to a great start!  At the end of his first week of sales he's already 23% of the way towards his goal - almost a quarter of the way there!!!

He's not done yet though, and he still needs your help!  You can help support him by buying popcorn online, or checking out the local offering and emailing us your order to jackatpack455@gmail.com today!  Thanks you!

Local? Check out the expanded offering!

If you are local to Jack or expect to see him at a family event before the end of November, take a look at this expanded offering!  If you aren't local, but see something you fancy, shoot us an email at jackatpack455@gmail.com and we'll see what we can do!

Jack was working hard - and it paid off!

Selling popcorn is thirsty work - luckily I found some extra cups before WWIII broke out...

Jack Sells Popcorn, take 15 - ACTION!

When Jack was a Tiger Scout he decided he would produce his own video asking friends and family for help supporting his Pack.  It was completely adorable, in a way that only works when you're 6.  Now that he's grown up and world wise, Jack wanted to produce a new video - but this one had to be "perfect".

We discussed what made a good video and he regaled me with the finer points of the Minecraft and Lego youtube videos he had seen.  We came up with an outline and then he got to it, scripting the whole thing and running through a number of takes until he got one he felt good about.  I was in the kitchen the whole time making dinner - this is an original Jack production.  Enjoy!

Here's his first video from when he was 6 - don't tell him I showed it to you...

Jack's Flyer

Just wanted to share this with you.  Jack came home the other day with a plan to hand out Popcorn flyers to his classmates.  We discussed what makes a flyer effective - that the message had to be clear, the text had to be neat, and it should have something to catch your attention.  He made several drafts and got his final draft approved by his teacher.  This is what he took into class today.  He's all business folks - please do what you can to help him reach his goal!
